Dryer Lint (art)
Laura Bell
My wife Laura Bell is an artist as well. She is nationally recognized for her creation of The Last Supper 4’x14′ in size made of dryer lint (yes the lint you take from your dryer lint catcher)! She entered the art piece in the Grand Rapids Artprize of 2010, 2012, 2013. She did not win the contest but she sold the art pieces to Ripley’s Believe it or Not. The Last Supper can be seen in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. She also made a second art piece made of dryer lint called The Creation of Adam 8’x16′ in size. Ripley’s bought this one as well, it was placed in New York at the 9-11 memorial for a service. You can view it in the Baltimore, Maryland Ripley’s Museum. She has done A Starry Night by Van-Gogh 6’x10′ in size, she has sold that to Ripley’s as well. Her artwork is in 3 Ripley’s Believe it or Not books.
Since 2010 she has done multiple commissioned artwork pieces.
The CBS Sunday Morning Show did an interview with her after she sold The Last Supper to Ripley’s. You can see the interview on YouTube. There are also many news paper articles.
She continues to amaze us with her talent.
